Digital X-ray will Reduce Radiation Exposure!

As you may have already noticed, our office has been working hard to update its computer system in all of the operatories. This update will allow us to use the latest in digital X-ray technology!

This new technology will allow us to view your X-rays on a computer and print them out for our records. If the situation calls for it, we would be able to forward your records to a specialist via email. On the computer, we will be able to adjust the contrast and brightness of the images which will enable Dr. Mascherin to make a more accurate diagnosis. The most important feature of digital X-ray is that radiation exposure to the patient is reduced by 50-90% !

Will the X-rays be taken differently? No. The same machines are used, however, instead of using films, we will place small electronic sensors in the mouth. The sensor images will then be uploaded into the computer for diagnosis.
