The HIPAA Act

HIPAA, or the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act is a relatively new set of federal guidelines which was developed to further protect the patients’ right to privacy and aid in maintaining the confidentiality of your healthcare records. All medical offices are expected to meet the HIPAA guidelines by April 2003. Our office is well on its way to becoming fully HIPAA compliant! At your upcoming dental visits you will notice some new forms we will request that you review and complete. Thank you for your help in completing necessary paperwork to bring our office into compliance.
