What exactly does that mean, and what are the AGD and ICOI? The AGD is an organization of general dentists who are dedicated to professional development and continuing education. All AGD members must remain current with advances in the profession to provide quality patient care. To achieve Fellowship status in the Academy a doctor must complete a total of 500 hours of continuing education in all the dental specialties and must successfully pass a full day examination.

A general dentist who is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and living testimony of the importance of quality continuing dental education for optimal patient care. Having earned her fellowship in 2002, Dr. Mascherin is now taking courses to achieve Mastership status with the AGD. A general dentist who has earned the designation “Master” of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) has completed a structured and rigorous set of requirements involving all the dental disciplines. Fellows and Masters of the Academy of General Dentistry follow a lifelong pursuit of continuing education to provide the highest quality of dental care. They serve as mentors to other dentists, and set examples in their communities with their hard work, concern and involvement. |

In 2005 Dr. Mascherin earned her Fellowship award from The International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), an organization devoted to sharing the most current research and education in the specialty of dental implants.

The ICOI is not only the world’s largest dental implant organization, but it is also the world’s largest provider of continuing dental implant education. The ICOI is an association of general dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists, endodontists, orthodontists, laboratory technicians, industry representatives, researchers, faculty members and pre and post doctoral graduate students. |

Fellows and Masters of the ICOI have pursued voluntary programs that evaluate and examine their knowledge of implant dentistry by experts in the field. They have accepted a lifelong commitment to learning as well as to promoting ICOI's renowned international camaraderie. As with the AGD, Dr. Mascherin continues to attend continuing education classes to achieve Mastership with the ICOI. |

MISCH International
Implant Institute Graduate.
In October
of 2005, Dr. Mascherin graduated from the renowned MISCH
International Implant Institute, located in Detroit,
Michigan. The MISCH International Implant Institute,
developed by Dr. Carl E. Misch, provides the most progressive
and extensive hands-on training in the world pertaining
to implant dentistry. Dr. Mascherin successfully completed
150 credit hours in advanced courses on implants, implant
surgery and prosthetics. We express thanks to Dr. Mascherin
for her continued desire to lead a team towards excellence
in the quality of service we provide our patients.

| Congratulations
to Dr. Mascherin, Fellow of the International Congress
of Oral Implantologists (ICOI)
Dr. Mascherin
was recently awarded the prestigious Fellowship
award from the International Congress of Oral
Implantologists (ICOI). Dr. Mascherin was presented
this award during the ICOI Winter Symposium, which
was held in Orlando, Florida on January 25-27,
2007. Now, having obtained her Fellowship award
with ICOI, Dr. Mascherin is that much closer towards
receiving her Mastership with the Academy of General
Dentistry (AGD) and the ICOI. In the end, Dr.
Mascherin will have taken a total of 1,100 hours
of continuing education and studied 16 disciplines
in dentistry! Congratulations Dr. Mascherin!!
